We haven't got any pictures to share as we have all been locked up, however our poet, Jill Edwards has been scribing again, and we all hope this is her last lockdown poem.
We Will Survive
We've forgotten how to laugh, we've forgotten how to sing,
We've forgotten how to get dressed up in finery and bling.
We've forgotten how to socialise, we've forgotten how to shop,
Now our weekly food order is done by click and drop.
We've forgotten how to travel, we've forgotten holidays,
We've forgotten having meals out, all are now a distant haze.
Someone pressed the pause button, our lives are all on hold,
There have been so many deaths, tragic stories have been told.
All of us now live-in hope vaccines will keep us alive,
As we are all so very keen this nightmare to survive.
So, when this war is over and the jabs have all been done,
We cannot wait for Boris to declare "Now have some fun".
Then we'll remember how to party and how to celebrate,
We'll remember how to sing and dance, most of us just can't wait.
But no doubt there will be caution, distance will still be kept,
But we'll be able to catch up with friends we've not physically met.
So, we are now optimistic, we await our next instructions,
To get us out of lockdown and return to normal functions.

Jill Edwards - Poet extraordinaire
Jill composed this poem as we entered the 1st Lockdown
SURVIVAL
Our lives have been interrupted by this Coronavirus
A silent, invisible enemy which threatens all of us.
As a nation we're in conflict, a united front we must show
And together we can beat this if the line we all do tow.
So, thank you front line workers, we think you're doing great
We applaud you every Thursday stood at our garden gate.
Although we have been given so many precious hours
To listen to the birdsong and admire the Spring flowers,
We must think about the people whose lives are torn apart
They'll never see their loved ones, anguish pulls at every heart.
We must have hope, be positive, their deaths must not be in vain
There will be a bright future for those of us who remain.
So, dig your garden, clean your house, talk to neighbours over the wall,
Contact someone every day, they'll welcome a friendly call.
Read a book, do a puzzle, sudoku or crossword
Backgammon is very challenging or so I've always heard.
Keep active in mind and body, we'll all get through this together
At least we'll have something to talk about and it won't be the British weather

Jill composed this poem as we entered the 2nd Lockdown
Here we go again!
Well, here we all are right back to square one
As though this pandemic had just begun.
With cases and deaths both on the rise
It really was no great surprise
That lockdown would rear its ugly head
And once again England would be put to bed.
As everything comes to a grinding halt
One has to wonder where was the fault?
Was it too soon to open bars and pubs
Restaurants, cinemas, gyms and clubs
Or was it the numerous mindless fools
Who had total disregard for Boris's rules?
Whoever you would like to blame
The outcome was destined to be the same.
As winter looms we were all warned
A second wave would soon be spawned.
So here we are once more locked down
No more coffees with friends or trips to town.
A long, lonely winter lies ahead
So, I think that I will go back to bed.

Jills Edwards - Poem for the 3rd Lockdown
The Beginning of the End
There's a new strain of the virus, tiers control our every move
And it really doesn't matter if of the rules you don't approve.
THEY ARE THERE FOR A REASON, that's to try and keep us safe
And prevent us from becoming an emergency Covid case.
Medical teams have been working hard, a breakthrough is on its way,
A big THANK YOU for all their efforts for we now have our final HOORAY.
Two vaccines have been developed, roll out is on its way
And most of us just cannot wait for that eventful day
When we are called to have our jab to make us safe once more
So that we can have the freedom to enter any door
Of friends and family, shop or gym, meet people face to face,
Shake hands and have a great big hug, feel part of the human race.
So now we must look forward, STAY IN, DO AS WE'RE TOLD
For there's light at the end of the tunnel and life's precious just like gold.
Accept the jab with gratitude so we'll all have peace of mind
When we're allowed to all meet up with celebrations of every kind.
